Pechoti Method You Ask?

Heard of the Pechoti Method and ever wondered what it’s all about?

The Pechoti Method is an ancient holistic therapy named after what ayurvedic healers call the pechoti gland, located behind your belly button. Your navel is situated over your digestive tract, as well as major lymph nodes and 72,000 veins, blood vessels and millions of nerves.  Crucially, it’s also connected to your vagus nerve – one of the largest nerves in your body, running from your gut to your brain.

Ayurveda, as stated by Hopkins Medicine, is a natural system of medicine, originated in India more than 3,000 years ago. The term Ayurveda is derived from the Sanskrit words ayur (life) and veda (science or knowledge). Thus, Ayurveda translates to knowledge of life. Based on the idea that disease is due to an imbalance or stress in a person’s consciousness, Ayurveda encourages certain lifestyle interventions and natural therapies to regain a balance between the body, mind, spirit, and the environment.

Ayurvedic rituals have been embraced for centuries for incorporating methods that result in holistic wellbeing of a person. The Pechoti Method is one such ritual.

Explaining the science behind the ritual to Indian Express, Dr Naram co-founder of Ayushakti elaborates: “Ayurveda considers the belly button to be an important marma point for a variety of reasons. This is one of the most crucial points that is extremely important in maintaining one’s health. The navel is the source of life and development. It is the center of one’s body and one of the most important sources of nourishment and growth. The [Pechoti Method] can promote an overall rejuvenating and healthy lifestyle.”

The Pechoti Method has been used for centuries in other cultures as a delivery mode for holistic medicine and treatments. Here’s how you can use the Pechoti Method to take CBD:

  1. Rinse or clean out your belly button and let it dry.
  2. Sit or lie down somewhere comfortable, like your bed or couch.
  3. Put a drop of coconut or macadamia carrier oil into your belly button, then add a few drops of CBD oil and let it absorb into your skin for a few minutes.
  4. Put a clean towel or sheet over your belly button so you’re not touching your belly button directly.
  5. Gently press down on your belly button with both thumbs, or your index, middle, and ring finger all at once. If you feel any discomfort or pain, continue pressing gently until the pain begins to subside.
  6. Stroke your stomach clockwise with your palm for about a minute.

Most importantly, remember to slow your breath while you practice this method and be present while you take a few minutes out of the day for you and your body to soak in some CBD love.
